Prost Y'all!

Das Ist Lustig is one of the busiest and most requested traditional German folk duos / bands in the southern part of the USA.  With performances all over the southeastern US in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Missouri, Oklahoma, Tennessee and, of course, Texas, they share their energetic style with festival patrons, restaurant and Biergarten clientele, students, and private party guests. 

Das Ist Lustig's show is full of energy, beer garden variety music and surprises.  Their repertoire includes music dating back to 1800, and all the way up to 2012!  After 17 years on the stage, their original concept of "Bier garten variety music with an interactive flavor" still rings true.  After 17 years on the stage, exclaiming “Prost Y'all” has become a beloved tradition with audiences everywhere.  The musicians love and respect the folk music they play, and their enthusiasm shows in their performance.  With an insatiable desire to see smiles on faces, the musicians craft each show by taking cues from their audiences.  Guests are invited to participate in unique ways, with hands on activities like playing the tuned Austrian Cowbells or trying their hand at the Teufelsgeige (drum-set on a stick).  Simple folk dances and at your table dances like their original audience participation creations: the Bankletanz (Bench Dance) and the Holzhacker (Wood Chopper) suitable for all ages are led on the spot. 

They play in Europe as well.  While playing a lunch show for their own tour guests in 2016,  Their music was described as "Spitze" which means "tops" by locals in Oberammergau.  The Telgte newspaper describes Ross as a master accordionist.  The duo plays music for their tour guests and any locals who wander in to the area while in Europe.  They've played a couple of public shows in The Netherlands, where they were invited to return any time.  The locals often ask where the duo is from, what part of Germany, and do not believe it when they reply "Texas"!
